8A - Solving the problem
There has been an immediate rise on teen deaths in the US which has been immediately linked to vaping, but people fail to realize is that these kids were trying to smoke cannabis cartridges that had vitamin E oil in them which, when burned at high temperatures, it turns into a deadly chemical called acetate that causes pneumonia and chronic lung illness. The problem is that due to cannabis not being legal, these things aren't regulated. With the market being on the streets and kids being able to buy cartridges, home made edibles, etc. You don't know what you're buying or what's included in these products because they're not being checked. A solution would be the legalization of cannabis in order to be able to regulate this industry and create a barrier of safety amongst American consumers who are going to get their hands on cannabis, regardless. This problem has been swept under the rug and blamed on vaping because it's easier to ban E-cigarettes than regulate cannabis due to the controversial outlook on cannabis from Americans and politicians alike.

Hey Danielle,
ReplyDeleteI agree and think that there is a problem with the immediate rise on teen deaths. I think your solution of legalizing cannabis could help and possibly stop the selling of unregulated cartridges, edibles, etc. A solution needs to be agreed on soon because more and more people are coming out with stories of the horrible effects it has created. Regulating cannabis would solve a lot of problems that are occurring and would also help with the safety of trying to get it like you said.
Hello Danielle,
ReplyDeleteThis is the right a approach to the cannabis market. Keeping the market illegal makes it hard to regulate it. Legalization would help the government or cannabis comes manufacture safer weed than this wax stuff and homemade edibles that are made correctly.
